new permitted development advice
Following on from the change in planning legislation back in October 2008 the Communities and Local Government department have released some additional information that should help to clarify the required parameters to be met for householders seeking to extend their properties without resorting to planning permission.
The new guidance document can be found here – http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/uploads/100806_PDforhouseholders_TechnicalGuidance.pdf
Whilst it’s not a comprehensive document it does help clarify what the terms in the legislation actually mean!
This new(-ish) legislation has proved to be useful for some of the practice’s clients over the last eighteen months; two of the practice’s projects have been undertaken where normal planning permission would have been difficult to obtain.
